teal + red

I saw these photos a couple of days ago and they've been stuck in my mind ever since. As I recently mentioned I'm mad about all things teal/turquoise so when I saw this photoshoot from photographer Nagi Sakai I was blown away. I absolutely love the colour corrections! I think the over-saturated lips look amazing against the teal/blue background. Ok, I think now you want to finally see the photos. Here they are:

Young blood

Here are some photos from the beautiful portfolio of 23-years old Mexican photographer Cecy Young. I find it really inspirational to see work of this quality produced by talented young artists (Cecy is only 3 years older than me!) So please, do enjoy these photos:

delicate

This evening was a real blog delight. I found some lovely blogs through craftgawker and I gathered quite a lot of beautiful things to share in the following days. But now, since it's almost midnight on a Friday, I'm wrapping up the week with some beautiful and delicate photos to inspire your weekend.

This morning London is experiencing the "typical English" weather so I'm looking at some bright and airy spaces to contrast the gray clouds outside.

Fresh air, lots of it

Today I was checking this year's exhibitors at the Tent London, which is a part of the London design week, and I stumbled upon the brilliant work of young British designer Zoe Murphy. Since her graduation from Loughborough university two years ago, she has been busy designing and promoting her work in exhibitions across the UK as well as the renowned Maison et Objet trade show in Paris. See why..

I'm seriously admiring her and I love her style. Zoe has successfully combined upcycling, craft and graphics. She gives a fresh, modern look to old furniture without making us wonder if it would have been better untouched, a question which appears more and more in the design society.

Zoe has a lovely blog where she shares her adventures as a young and popular designer, she will also be at the Tent London until September 26th.

Bedrooms, old and new

It's been a while since my last post but now I am back on track with lots to share. In the meantime I moved to England for my second year in university, doing Interior design at Kingston University and I'm looking forward to starting lectures next week.
I found the photos below while I was researching for a personal project which I will probably share in a couple of days. Hope you will enjoy!

As I moved into a new place (in halls of residence) I've been looking at lots of bedrooms and ways to personalise a small space. Today I was particularly looking for interesting headboards and I loved this one as well as the rest of the look! It's right up my alley - a combination of vintage finds, graphics, clean lines and lots of layers in a space that is "lived-in" rather than designed.

I seriously love the statement headboard and the structural details even though I think the space itself would feel a bit too white.

Ethno fabrics! They are sure to make a statement, I've seen such ones to be used instead of headboards a couple of times and they always look stunning. And the bright red? Mmm..

This bed looks sooo cosy, exactly as a bed should look like. I bet the owners never want to leave the bedroom.
I'm loving the color palette!

I probably have a slight obsession with big windows, but even if I didn't, this one would appeal to me. I only hate the chinchilla throw. Leave chinchillas alone.

Yes, I know it's not a bedroom. Does anyone mind that at all? I think it's amazing, really, not just because I have a soft spot for Mid-century modern.

Last but not least is a gift from Domino. Now that's real class!

A bunch of daisies for you

Here's a bit of eye candy for those of you who've had a though day at work. This is the new glass vase from Italian designer Mario Trimarchi for Alessi.

More blues

It's not just the end of summer, I've been in a deep blue phase for a couple of month now. Today I'm sharing some photos from photographer Polly Wreford's portfolio and a little something from the ever-gorgeous Anthropologie.

This photo is the reason for the entire post - I absolutely love the way the pattered floor changes the interior! It's an unusual centerpiece - brilliant.

A fresh yellow sink to contrast a deep blue wall? Bring it on!

I don;t think that Anthropologie need any comments, I just enjoy and wish I was half as creative as their teams are.

Summery

Isn't it wonderful how a single photo of a smiling girl can seem to bring back the summer? It's what I want today, can't we just extend summer a bit more? Say 2 or 3 months? Ooh..

I have a weak spot for all things turquoise. I'm always dreaming of bold turquoise walls so today I'm loving this art wall in Ben Broughman's studio published in this issue of Lonnymag
