100% Brit

What a week. I had my first 5 days in my new course (2nd year Interior design in Kingston University)and we had quite a start! 2 hours after our first lecture on Monday we were in the Royal Festival Hall having a guided tour and a lecture from the very architects who did the refurbishment of the building. We've been making a model of the building ever since (and it's quite a building, you know)
So now, exactly one week after I visited 100% Design I have time to research all the studios I noted when I was there (6 pages!). Before I start showing my faves, I have to say that I loved the show (even though it had a strict no photography policy and I had to write down every studio I liked). It really had everything for everyone, from high-end sleek modern furniture and accessories to handmade lampshades and ceramics. I also attended a couple of lectures which were quite helpful and I tasted a "magic fruit" which makes acids taste like sweet! You can't imagine how much we loved limes at that moment!
Back to the exhibitors - even though I quite liked the international 100% design stalls (100% France, Spain, Italy, Norway, Argentina, Korea) as I was researching my list with names it turned out that I gathered my small 100% British selection! Here are some of the faves..

Pinch

I had browsed their website before but seeing the real thing is always better!

Pendal 2 seat sofa

Pendal armchair

Wave sideboard

I am sorry for the tiny last picture, but I wanted to show their Twig wall panel in an interior setting, the difference it worth it.

Deadgood design

Love seat for two - gotta love the concept!

Wire table lamps and Capsule collection

& then

Tilly sofa
(Do you spot the trend? I guess we all love Hella Jongerius..)

Miss Print

Leaves Lampshade

Alp

Alp is actually led by the swiss-born architect Annick L Petersen, but they are based in London, so I guess that partially fits the title..

Alp rug

That's it for now! Hope you liked my peek in this year's 100% Design show. I gotta go and read Interior architecture books for my course.. see you!
